With just two days to go before their La Liga opener against RCD Mallorca at Son Moix, FC Barcelona continued to train and prepare for the game today.
Having had a pristine run through the pre-season, where they won four in four, including a resounding 5-0 win over Como in the Gamper Trophy match, the Blaugrana appear ready to go for the defence of their league title.
Still no Lewandowski
However, according to SPORT, Barcelona superstar Robert Lewandowski remains training apart from the group after experiencing muscle discomfort in the biceps femoris of his left thigh.
The issue occurred last week, following which the veteran striker has been working away from the rest of the group.
Lewandowski ended up not playing any part in the Gamper Trophy match, and there have been suggestions that he might not be ready until the end of the month.

As for today, the Polish striker worked alone once again, following a specific recovery programme aimed at getting him back as quickly as possible.
With the Mallorca clash looming, Lewandowski is racing against the clock, but no risks will be taken. The priority is to have him at 100% for the entire season.
Barcelona’s new training strategy
The report further states that the Barcelona coaching staff and medical team are carefully managing the physical loads of several players who have accumulated fatigue during pre-season.
This does not mean the players are in pain or injured; it is purely a preventive approach to ensure tiredness does not lead to muscle problems. Communication between Hansi Flick’s technical staff and the club’s medical services remains excellent in this regard.
Today, for example, Jules Kounde, Marc Casado, and Marc Bernal carried out short individual drills alongside the aforementioned Lewandowski.
This is part of a common strategy from Barcelona to optimise players’ power output and ensure they reach the first league matches fresh and injury-free.
