Man United's key off-field PSG hire paying off, two more agreements expected after £70m boost

Manchester United will be pleased with their growth on and off the pitch this summer.

Ineos have been hard at work this summer getting Manchester United ready for the 2025/26 campaign.

Over £200 million has been spent on new signings, with Benjamin Sesko the latest of four new arrivals for Ruben Amorim’s squad.

Off the pitch, a new £50m renovation of Carrington has been opened, while the commercial team has been busy improving revenue, including a new partnership with Coca-Cola announced this week.

It seems the Coca-Cola deal is just the start of a commercial overhaul at United, and one Ineos hire deserves the credit.

Marc Armstrong leading £70m commercial charge at Man United

Last season, Sir Jim Ratcliffe went public about United’s financial struggles, suggesting that the club was going bust by the end of 2025 before Ineos intervention.

The aim at United is to be “best in class” in every department, and that includes improving on and off the pitch.

In September, United hired Marc Armstrong from PSG as the club’s Chief Business Officer, and he has done a brilliant job so far.

According to The Athletic, Armstrong and his commercial team have agreed £70 million worth of deals over the past five months.

The Coca-Cola deal is the latest agreement struck by Armstrong and his team, believed to be worth around £1 million per season.

Man United set to announce two new deals

Despite finishing 15th in the Premier League last season and missing out on European football, United continue to attract impressive sponsorships and partners.

In Coca-Cola, United have partnered with a global brand, and it seems further deals are on the cards.

The Athletic report above adds that United are on the verge of announcing three new partnerships, with one likely to have been the Coca-Cola deal.

As pointed out by United in Focus’ finance expert Adam Williams, United are still missing a naming rights partner for the training centre and a naming rights partner for the training kit.

They are likely going to be the deals set to be announced by Ineos, earning United even more in commercial revenue.
