The quest to replace Nelson Semedo has dominated Wolves transfer discourse over the past few weeks, but a breakthrough could be coming soon as Fabrizio Romano reports.
Wolves have not had an easy time of it, searching for their next right wing-back. July saw two talented Spaniards say no to a move to Molineux.
First, it was Marc Pubill, who was snapped up by Atletico Madrid. Then, an initial agreement was reached with Juanlu Sanchez, but a change of heart left that deal in the dirt.
But a fresh update points to Wolves making progress for a ‘swift’ wing-back they have been looking at all summer.
Fabrizio Romano reveals Wolves have made an approach for Hellas Verona’s Jackson Tchatchoua
It had been worryingly quiet on the transfer front for the last few days, but now Fabrizio Romano has given Wolves fans something to be excited about.

Jackson Tchatchoua would be a brilliant signing for Vitor Pereira’s system, as a mobile wing-back who excels in transition moments.

Wolves’ interest in Tchatchoua can be traced back to the start of July, before Semedo announced his departure to Fenerbahce.
Fans will be excited by his ‘swift and decisive’ playstyle and the age profile leaves plenty of room for improvement.
Wolves target Jackson Tchatchoua has attracted a lot of interest this window
Wolves have found out the hard way that there is not an abundance of talent on the market for the right side of defence.
Sanchez and Pubill were seen as the best options by many teams, which is what prevented Wolves from finalising a deal.

Tchatchoua is hot property, having caught the eye of both Milan teams earlier in the window, while Nottingham Forest were also monitoring the 23-year-old. But Wolves would be the best option for the Belgian, as he would walk into the starting lineup.
Hopefully this rumour isn’t the latest to dissipate in what has been a tiresome few weeks in the window.
