Roy Keane has never been the biggest fan of Liverpool due to his ties with their arch-rivals, Manchester United.
The Irishman has often gone against Liverpool, much like what Gary Neville does on Monday Night Football with Jamie Carragher.
This summer, however, it’s impossible to knock the Reds down a peg or two as their summer transfer window has been nothing short of spectacular, with players such as Florian Wirtz being brought in.

And now, with the future of Alexander Isak still being up in the air, the former Man United man has given his thoughts on where the future of Newcastle’s star man could lie.
Roy Keane and Gary Neville believe Alexander Isak will end up at Liverpool
Ever since the transfer window opened at the start of June, it’s been clear that Isak was Arne Slot’s number one target.
Although rumours about his potential transfer have only just started to heat up again over the last couple of days, it now feels rather likely that the Magpies’ talisman will be making his way to Anfield.
And, while speaking on the Stick to Football Podcast, Gary Neville and Keane both gave their thoughts on Isak’s future.
As mentioned, Neville himself said Liverpool, but so did Jill Scott, Jamie Carragher and Ian Wright.

However, after Neville admitted that Isak could be going to Liverpool, he added the following: “I hope it’s Newcastle, but I think it’ll be Liverpool.”
Carragher then replied with: “I think a little problem is that Liverpool and Newcastle play each other [on the] second game of the season at St James’ Park.
“There’s no way that the deal gets done before then.”
Comparing Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike’s statistics from last season
One of the main things that has left a fair few Liverpool fans confused is the fact that the Reds still want to sign Isak even though they’ve already signed Hugo Ekitike.
Newcastle initially wanted to sign the Frenchman to become Isak’s replacement, but after Newcastle chose to reject Liverpool’s initial offer for the Sweden international, the Reds swooped in and acquired Ekitike’s services.
Both strikers were in fine form last season, with both becoming key cogs within their teams’ set-ups.
Player Games Goals Assists
Alexander Isak 42 27 6
Hugo Ekitike 48 22 12

Indeed, although Ekitike ended the season with more goal contributions altogether, it’s hard to look past the fact that Isak managed to score 23 of his 27 goals in the Premier League.
Of course, the Bundesliga is also a very competitive league, but when compared to England’s top flight, there’s no competition.
At the moment, it’s anyone’s guess what could happen before transfer deadline day, but with the way that things have progressed over the last few days, it’s hard to see how Isak doesn’t end up becoming a Liverpool player this summer.
