Antonio Brown & MicMan Drop New Track While NFL Star Is On The Run
Antonio Brown — former NFL star and Super Bowl LV champion with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers — links up with rising rap star MicMan to drop new track, “Twelve (Remix),” while evading a warrant on attempted murder charges in Florida. Still pursuing his music career abroad, AB calls on Massachusetts emerging rap star MicMan to come to Dubai and record new music.
Multiple news outlets have reported that AB left the country after a warrant was issued, stemming from a brawl involving the former wide receiver at Adin Ross’ boxing event in Miami, Florida, in May. AB allegedly pulled a weapon to disperse the melee. The footage circulated on social media; afterward, Miami authorities issued a warrant for the wide receiver’s arrest.
In June, multiple clips surfaced across social media of MicMan and AB in a Dubai studio, working on music with plans to release it in the coming weeks. AB reached out to MicMan after discovering the new artist’s popularity on Instagram.
MicMan, born Micah Lawal, is an emerging Maryland rapper making waves in the DMV’s diverse hip-hop scene—home to stars like Logic, Rico Nasty, and JPEGMAFIA. Initially on track for a career in physics, MicMan pivoted to music in the 2020s, fueled by early buzz that pushed him to go all in.
He debuted in 2023 with “No Issues,” a laid-back, creative cut that hinted at his ambition and knack for catchy melodies. As his style evolved into a more trend-savvy sound, his following surged. By 2024, MicMan had his biggest year yet, building momentum as one of the DMV’s most promising new voices.
MicMan and producer Tommy Brown, known for producing Glorilla’s hit “Typa,” are collaborating on a full-length album. Their first track together, “Motion,” quickly gained over 60,000 streams on Spotify after its release.
Mic isn’t alone in his rise to stardom. His team includes hedge fund owner Taylor Godwin and music manager Sheikh Fye. They’ve created lucrative opportunities for him while keeping his artistry in his hands.
The visual for “Twelve” was shot on Antiono Brown’s birthday in Dubai. The collaboration is a menacing, bass-heavy track about living under constant watch. “We shot in the studio and the day after, which was his birthday,” MicMan tells the press. “So we were able to celebrate while creating.”
The success of “Twelve” aims to create opportunities for the two to release more music.
“Everyone’s tapping in,” said MicMan. “We definitely have to drop a project.”
Antonio Brown claims he is the victim of a May assault, but there have been no efforts to execute the warrant. On June 21, he tweeted that he was out of the country and told his baby mamas to get jobs, stating, “I’m out the country, ain’t no more Child Support.”
