QPR and Derby County were both fighting it out towards the lower echelons of the Championship table.
However, with the 2025/26 campaign underway, both are tipped for better fortunes this time around. The R’s are under the lead of French boss Julien Stephan, while John Eustace is embarking on his first full season in charge at Pride Park.

Both bosses have been backed with new signings, spending well on some notable deals. Now though, it is claimed the Championship duo are considering moves in the free agent market.
According to a report from Football League World, both QPR and Derby County are interested in defensive midfielder Isaac Hayden.

The 30-year-old is available on a free transfer after the mutual termination of his contract at Premier League side Newcastle United, where he cut a popular figure despite falling far down the pecking order over the past three years or so.
A number of clubs are said to be keen on Hayden, but only the Hoops and DCFC are named at this time. A move to West London would see him return to familiar surroundings having spent time on loan at Loftus Road in 2024.
