Manchester United have reportedly decided to send midfielder Toby Collyer on loan to a Championship club.
While the Red Devils have shelled out in excess of £200m to strengthen in the final third, they are yet to make any midfield additions.
However, Brighton & Hove Albion star Carlos Baleba is known to be a top target and negotiations are ongoing between the two sides.
Should the Cameroon international or an alternative be signed, that would inevitably push Collyer further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.
As per journalist Laurie Whitwell of The Athletic, the decision has already been taken to allow the academy graduate to move to the second tier of English football.

Which Championship club is Collyer joining?
The report suggests that West Bromwich Albion have won the race to sign the 21-year-old for the 2025-26 campaign.
Despite making a winning start to the new Championship season, the Baggies are in need of central-midfield reinforcements.
Ryan Mason has seemingly been trusted with the progression of Collyer, who will be expected to earn regular minutes at The Hawthorns.
West Brom will be pushing to complete the signing ahead of their trip to Wrexham on Saturday as they look to build on edging out Blackburn Rovers on the opening weekend.

How many games has Collyer played for Man United?
Although he will turn 22 years of age in January, Collyer has been restricted to just 13 senior appearances in his career.
Only 467 minutes have been accumulated during that time and the only time that he has ever completed 90 minutes at this level of football came in a 7-0 victory over Barnsley in the EFL Cup.
He has also made six outings for the Under-21s in the EFL Trophy, but weekly football is what the England Under-20 international requires at this stage of his career if he is ever to challenge for a starting spot in Ruben Amorim's starting lineup.
