Roma submit loan offer for Jadon Sancho, Man Utd face dilemma over outcast

Jadon Sancho has interest from Italy after being told to find a new club.

After returning from a loan spell at Chelsea, Jadon Sancho was informed that he was to stay away from Manchester United’s first team while they prepare for the 2025/26 season.

Ineos wanted to give outcasts like Sancho more time to organise his move in the transfer market.

Sadly, that has not happened yet for Sancho, although there have been multiple clubs linked with the England international, who has flopped at Old Trafford.

Sancho arrived at United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 following a two-year chase for his signature. Since then, he has made 83 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals and registering six assists.

None of the clubs linked with Sancho have shown enough willingness to meet United’s transfer demands.

Roma make bid for Jadon Sancho

Borussia Dortmund and Juventus remain interested in Sancho after tracking the winger all summer.

Neither club has been successful in reaching an agreement with United, suggesting that the forward faces stumbling blocks before completing his move.

According to The Times, Roma have made a bid to sign Sancho on a season-long loan from United.

The Italian club would like to sign Sancho and Aston Villa’s Leon Bailey, but United would prefer to sell their unwanted winger in a permanent deal rather than lose him for another season on loan.

Sancho currently pockets £250,000 per week at United, and it remains to be seen if he is willing to take a pay cut to complete a move away from Old Trafford.

It was reported this week that Sancho turned down a move to Besiktas, despite potentially linking up with former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

This means United face a dilemma with Sancho, especially as the clock ticks on in the transfer window. The Red Devils could become more desperate towards deadline day, and clubs like Roma are fully aware of that.

Man Utd struggle to sell outcasts

Sancho is not the only player United are struggling to sell this summer.

Marcus Rashford joined Barcelona on a season-long loan earlier this summer, but others remain despite not being part of Amorim’s plans.

The others include Antony, Alejandro Garnacho and Tyrell Malacia, who were all told to train away from the squad this summer.

It remains to be seen if these players will find new clubs before the new season begins.
