How Jenkins and Kilroy impacted the franchise forever
Kilroy was one of the original great Eagles ironmen, playing on both the offensive and defensive lines for the team from 1943 through 1955. He was a three-time Pro Bowler and helped the Eagles win their first two NFL Championships in 1948 and 1949.
The reputation of Kilroy fits with the times of what Philadelphia sports fans wanted in their player, as he was considered tough, but dirty. He only missed one of his 203 career games, playing through injuries to help the team win.
Eagles fans may not love former head coach Chip Kelly, but the one great move he made was signing Jenkins in 2014. Jenkins played six seasons in the midnight green uniforms, making three Pro Bowls, never missing a game, and helping the franchise win its first Super Bowl in 2017.
Jenkins was seen as the Brian Dawkins replacement the Eagles had been looking for after he departed for the Denver Broncos. The heartbeat of the defense was Jenkins, as he was great in pass coverage and laying a big hit when needed.

Kilroy and Jenkins brought him a championship and created championship cultures in a franchise that had not won many or appeared in many title games in the past. They set the foundation for what the Eagles are now, as everyone knows, they are a winning franchise that rarely fails.
