Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts was the fourth overall pick from the Florida Gators in the 2021 NFL Draft. This will be the fifth season that Pitts is with the Falcons.

He will be a free agent after the 2025 NFL season. During the offseason, Pitts was mentioned in trade rumors, but the Falcons have not traded him for now. It will be interesting to see if they will give him a long-term contract or not. Pitts has not reached his full potential since his rookie season and there is a chance he can maybe have another good season in 2025 as well.

There are a lot of NFL fans who have been puzzled about Pitts’s performance over the last few years in the NFL, especially when it comes to fantasy football. There is a chance that he could actually be more involved in the offense during the 2025 season, especially in a contract year.
Marc Raimondi of espn.com mentioned that the Falcons starting tight end will be the team’s x-factor as the 2025 NFL season begins. Raimondi said,
“A great deal of the Falcons’ fortunes this season rest on the left arm of second-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr., but a great deal of Penix’s fortunes rest with Pitts. If Pitts can even approach his Pro Bowl rookie output of 1,026 yards on 68 catches in 2021, Penix will have another elite player joining wide receiver Drake London and running back Bijan Robinson. Pitts, 24, has not eclipsed the 700-yard mark in any of his previous three seasons, but he says he’s healthier now and has already formed a connection on and off the field with Penix.”
There is no doubt that Pitts is a very talented tight end. During the 2024 season with Atlanta, he caught 47 passes for 602 yards receiving and four touchdowns, along with averaging 12.8 yards per reception. Pitts was targeted 74 times. There is a chance that the Falcons offense can open up even more if Pitts is more involved in the offense.
If he can produce a 1,000 yard season in 2025, there is a chance that Atlanta may have to re-sign him, but there would also be some teams willing to pay him a nice contract on the open market. A big year for Pitts could potentially help the Falcons be a playoff team this upcoming season.
