Aston Villa youngster Yasin Özcan has barely trained with Anderlecht yet due to paperwork issues around the youngster.
That’s according to Anderlecht head coach Besnik Hasi, who has revealed the issue in comments [relayed by Voetbal Primeur.](https://www.voetbalprimeur.be/nieuws/1682639/zcan-nog-niet-in-basis-bij-anderlecht-door-papierwerk-niet-veel-kunnen-trainen.html)
Özcan joined the Belgian side on loan from Aston Villa earlier this month, signing for the season in a deal that includes an option for them to make it permanent.
The 19-year-old has only been with Aston Villa since last month, when he arrived in a €7m deal from Turkish side Kasimpasa, where he had come through the youth ranks.
The deal for him was tied up earlier this year before being completed in July, leading to some eyebrows being raised when Aston Villa sent him to Anderlecht on loan.
The hope is that he can be a regular for them this season and get the game time that wasn’t on offer at Aston Villa under Unai Emery this season.
The defender is in Anderlecht’s squad for the first time this week as they take on Sheriff Tiraspol in the Conference League, but Hasi says it’s unlikely he’ll start given he hasn’t actually trained with his new club.
“He has grit and is calm with the ball at his feet, but he still needs time,” he said when asked about the youngster.
“He only played two 45-minute matches with Aston Villa, and because of the paperwork, he hasn’t been able to train with us much yet.”
