Although rumors of a possible trade have been swirling, it seems Giddey’s contract extension talks could be coming to a conclusion soon.
His teammate, 20-year-old forward Matas Buzelis, shared an Instagram story that may have inadvertently leaked details of Giddey’s extension with the Bulls.
According to the latest update on Giddey’s situation, the Bulls have reportedly proposed a four-year deal worth up to $80 million — roughly $20 million per season.
There had also been speculation that Giddey could have opted for a qualifying offer worth $11.1 million next season.
Last season, Giddey showcased his all-around game, averaging 14.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 7.2 assists per contest while shooting 46.5% from the field and 37.8% from beyond the arc.
