Leicester City and one Championship rival are keen on an attacking-midfield sensation from Europe, who could slot in perfectly as a Bilal El Khannouss replacement for the Foxes.
Following relegation to the Championship after a disastrous Premier League season, Leicester City have had to deal with player departures, most notably Jamie Vardy after his contract came to an end.
Mads Hermansen and Wilfried Ndidi have also moved on from the King Power Stadium, and there is every chance that Moroccan talent Bilal El Khannouss could soon follow.
El Khannouss has recently been linked with a move to Leeds United, as well as Newcastle United, and such a deal has a likelihood of going ahead this summer.
Fortunately, Leicester City have sounded out an attacking midfielder who could be a brilliant, and cheaper alternative to El Khannouss, but they face competition from a fellow Championship side.

Leicester City track Yegor Tverdokhlib alongside Norwich City and European clubs
It has been revealed, via Pete O’Rourke on X, that Leicester City are reportedly keen to sign 24-year-old Ukrainian talent Yegor Tverdokhlib, as are Norwich City.
The Foxes and the Canaries are set to face stiff competition from German club Augsburg and Turkish side Eyupspor, who are also weighing up moves for the 24-year-old before the close of the transfer window.
The Leicester City target has made 78 appearances in the Ukrainian top division, and his performances have caught the attention of several clubs of his whereabouts.
How Yegor Tverdokhlib compares to Bilal El Khannouss
Leicester City desperately need to bring in a goalscoring attacking midfielder with a turn of pace and a note of trickery as well. Luckily, Yegor Tverdokhlib would provide exactly that.
In the 2024/25 season, Tverdokhlib shone for Ukrainian outfit Kryvbas, where he bagged a phenomenal 14 goals in 24 games from midfield. He also notched four assists on top of that total.
Before the turn of the year, Tverdokhlib went through a fiery spell, having scored seven in five games, which included a hat-trick in a 4-1 victory.
Tverdokhlib has shown his quality against top-level opposition, having scored in the season just gone against Ukrainian giants Shakhtar Donetsk.
It would be a risk for Leicester City to strike a deal for Tverdokhlib as a direct replacement for Bilal El Khannouss, but he has shown in Ukraine to have the potential of notching brilliant numbers at a decent level, something that should arguably be worth taking a gamble on.
