The Miami Dolphins finished with an 8-9 record during the 2024 NFL season and they missed the playoffs. It was another year where Miami missed the playoffs and also not winning a playoff game as well.

The Dolphins fanbase is eager for this franchise to finally win a playoff game. With that being said, head coach Mike McDaniel is entering a critical fourth season with the franchise. If they don’t make the playoffs in 2025, there is a chance that McDaniel and others are fired.

There has been a lot of noise surrounding the Dolphins this offseason. There seems to be a lot of chemistry issues and a lot of words that McDaniel is also saying to the media. McDaniel is looking for improvement during his fourth season with Miami and he said to Jeff Howe of the Athletic,
“For me, the reps allow me to understand this job more. I understand more of my job being tailored to what people need. The job is hard. I definitely feel healthier, stronger and overall the happiest in Year 4. I do not get it twisted, ever. It’s very clear that everyone is depending on me to be better every single year. Everyone is depending on me to be my best. I’m not in the business of letting down people who depend on me.”
Well, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is reliant on McDaniel’s communication, especially since he is an offensive minded head coach. There has been some relationship problems with Tagovailoa and wide receiver Tyreek Hill. It is causing more drama than it should, but there is a chance that it could spiral out of control if they don’t win games early in 2025.
Miami has a very winnable game in Week 1 on the road against the Indianapolis Colts. If the Dolphins were able to not win that game, there is a chance that it could be a very long season for the folks in South Florida. Miami does have talent on the roster to be a wild card team in the AFC. The biggest question for this franchise will be can McDaniel keeps his troops altogether? If not, then the Dolphins will probably not have a good year.
