Tottenham Hotspur defender Luka Vuskovic has been linked with a move away from the North London club this summer.
Luka Vuskovic impressed during pre-season with Tottenham Hotspur, but he is unlikely to get regular game time at the Premier League club. He needs to leave on loan so that he can continue his development with regular football. Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV are keen on securing the services of the 18-year-old prodigy, and they have now given a deadline to complete the move.
According to an update by French journalist Sebastien Vidal, the Bundesliga outfit have given Tottenham 24 hours to decide on the loan move, and the deadline may have expired. They have already secured an agreement with the player. It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can wrap up the move quickly.
Vuskovic needs game time
Vuskovic is a talented player with a bright future. He needs to play regularly in order to continue with development. Tottenham will not be able to provide him with that opportunity. Joining the German club will allow him to improve with regular football. The Croat will be hoping to return to Tottenham as a better player next summer and force his way into their first team plans.
The teenage sensation showed his quality during pre-season, and there is no doubt that he could be an important player for the club in the long run. However, Tottenham are well-stocked in the defensive unit right now, and they need to focus on the development of their young prospects.
Sending the youngsters, including Vuskovic, out on loan would be ideal instead of keeping them on the bench for the upcoming season. Tottenham already have Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Radu Dragusin, and Kevin Danso at their disposal.
The North London looked quite vulnerable defensively last season, and it will be interesting to see if they can improve in that area of the pitch. Spurs have a talented squad, but they need more quality and depth on the side if they want to fight for trophies. Tottenham finished in the bottom half of the table last season, and they will look to bounce back strongly and push for a place in the top four.
