Everton submit offer to sign £372,000-a-week forward in 'big move' - journalist

Everton have made a 'big' move by submitting an offer to sign Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic, but the Serbian forward has opted to reject the approach, according to journalist Sevastien Vidal.

It's been an exciting start to the summer transfer window for the Toffees, but their supporters will still be hoping to see more additions through the door in the coming weeks. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, and Mark Travers all signed on the dotted line for the Toffees, while Carlos Alcaraz's loan move was also made permanent.

Earlier this week, Everton also confirmed a marquee addition, with Jack Grealish arriving on loan from Manchester City. Although the England international wasn't at his best last season, it wasn't long ago that he played a crucial role in helping Pep Guardiola's side win the treble. With David Moyes' squad still looking relatively small, we could see more reinforcements before the end of the window.

Dusan Vlahovic in action for Juventus

According to journalist Vidal, Everton have submitted an offer to sign Juventus striker Vlahovic, in what was described as a 'big move'. The Serbian forward has decided to turn down the approach, and he looks set to see out his contract with the Italian club. Vidal also adds that Everton's new owners, The Friedkin Group, are still showing 'huge' ambition after landing Grealish this week...

Securing the signature of Vlahovic was never going to be easy, especially with the Serbian international earning £372,000-a-week at Juventus. There's even an argument to suggest that the signing of a new centre-forward isn't particularly necessary, with Moyes currently having Beto, Barry, and Youssef Chermiti at his disposal.

The Toffees are crying out for a new right-sided attacker after Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison both departed this summer following the conclusion of their respective loan spells. Everton travel to Leeds United on Monday night as they get their Premier League campaign underway, before they host Brighton the following week in their first competitive game at their new Hill Dickinson stadium.
