Dak Prescott fires back after brutal disrespect

The Dallas Cowboys missed out on the playoffs last year after a brutal year that saw seemingly every one of their star players go down with an injury at one point or another. Among those injured stars was franchise quarterback Dak Prescott, who had his hamstring come partially off the bone, ending his season early.

In Prescott’s absence, it appears that many around the league have forgotten just how precise and lethal Prescott can be from the pocket when he’s at the top of his game. In a recent ranking of the top quarterbacks in the league from The Athletic, Prescott came in at 12th.

Now, the Cowboys’ on-field leader is responding to his ranking, which is surprisingly low for a player of his caliber.

“I know who I am. I’m confident in who I am. It’s about me just continuing to get better, healthy, grow and make sure I’m the best player, QB and leader I can be for this team. That’s the list I care about,” Prescott said, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota.

Fans reacted to Prescott’s response on social media.

“All washed athletes say the (same) things,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“I can name 13 better than him,” someone else added.

It’ll be interesting to see if Prescott can stay healthy this season and back up his words while proving his detractors wrong.
