Arsenal are preparing for the first game of the season which comes on Sunday afternoon against rivals Manchester United.
The Gunners head into the season off the back of three seasons where they have finished second. However, after a transfer window when they addressed the striker issue, replaced Thomas Partey, and added more depth across the pitch, Arsenal will be optimistic that maybe this is the year.

Mikel Arteta‘s side won’t have an easy first game however, they play against a Man United side who are expected to be better than in previous years, as they have added the likes of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
But how will the Arsenal boss decide to lineup on the first day, and will some of his new signings get to start…?
Lewis-Skelly starts over Calafiori and White
GK – David Raya – Arsenal signed Kepa Arrizabalaga to challenge Raya for the starting spot, but the Spaniard comfortably has it for now.
LB – Myles Lewis-Skelly – Arteta could opt for more experience with Ben White or Riccardo Calafiori at left-back, however, we believe that Lewis-Skelly will start.
CB – Gabriel – The Brazilian defender comes back after he missed the last part of last season with a hamstring injury.
CB – William Saliba –Saliba lines up next to Gabriel to form what could be considered the best centre-back partnership in the Premier League.
RB – Jurrien Timber – The Dutch right-back is expected to have a big impact this year after a good showing last season.
Zubimendi comes into the Arsenal midfield
CDM – Martin Zubimendi – The Spanish international should be able to make an impact quickly after looking impressive in pre-season.
CM – Martin Odegaard –Odegaard will be Arsenal’s captain again this season, and he will hope to lift silverware at the end of it.
CM – Declan Rice – After his best season as a professional, Rice will hope to continue his development as one of the best midfielders in the world.
Gyokeres starts over Havertz up front
LW – Gabriel Martinelli – Madueke, Trossard or Nwaneri could play here, but Martinelli looked good in pre-season, so he starts this weekend.
RW – Bukayo Saka – The England international will hope for less of an injury-heavy season this year, with Madueke to help as backup.
ST – Viktor Gyokeres –Gyokeres starts ahead of Havertz up front, and the Swedish striker will hope to score against his former manager Ruben Amorim.
