Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Sasa Kalajdzic has admitted the current plan is to stay at the club this summer, but that could change.
The Austrian [has been speaking to 90 Minuten](https://www.90minuten.at/de/red/magazin/interview/sasa-kalajdzic--ich-fuehle-mich-stark-wie-noch-nie-/) in his homeland as he looks to return this season after overcoming his third major knee injury.
The striker has spent most of the last six years on the treatment table after first suffering a cruciate ligament tear in 2019. That saw him spent 264 days out injured and miss 34 games for club and country.
He joined Wolves in an €18m deal in 2022 but had barely settled in before he found himself out injured again, with another cruciate ligament tear seeing him out for 275 days in total and missing 43 games for club and country.
After battling back for that he went to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan in February last year, but disaster struck again as he suffered the same injury. His layoff this time was 437 days and 52 games for Wolves and Frankfurt.
He’s now returned again and has already admitted he needs regular playing time to get his career back on track. That was seen as him opening the door to a transfer, but he insists the focus is on Wolves for now.
“There weren’t many conversations (with Vitor Pereira),”
“He probably wanted to get a feel for me. I’ve heard very, very positive things from him and the coaching staff so far. I’m curious to see what my role will be and how things will go.
“As of now, yes, but that could all change,” he said when asked about staying at Wolves.
“Germany is always a good league because I know it and the league knows me. Of course, a top five league is always the goal: Spain, Italy, for example. But it depends on the club whether it’s just the right fit.
“You can play in the best league in the world but get completely hammered in the last game – that doesn’t help either. It just has to be right: in terms of the playing system, the coach, the sporting director.
“I know I’m not in a position where I have much choice, because clubs often think twice or three times about it due to my injury history. That’s perfectly legitimate. But I feel great, stronger than ever. I’m full of energy.”
