Manchester City are said to have pulled off a “brilliant bit of business” that nobody is talking about.
Manchester City have enjoyed a fruitful summer on the transfer front, making a number of top signings for the senior team.
The Citizens have also been busy snapping up top talents for the academy, such as Caelan Cadamarteri.
However, pundit Robbie Earle has now spoken about “another great signing” who could make Pep Guardiola’s life a lot easier.

Robbie Earle excited over Pep Lijnders arrival at Manchester City
Over the summer, Man City saw coaches Juanma Lillo and Inigo Dominguez leave the club, which meant finding replacements.
Former Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders stepped up, signing for Man City as Guardiola’s new No. 2 early in June.

And Earle believes Lijnders is a particularly shrewd addition to the City coaching ranks who can really complement Guardiola.
“The second thing I want to say on Pep (Guardiola) is the other Pep, Pep Lijnders, who he’s brought in as his assistant coach, who I think is a brilliant bit of business,” Earle said on the 2 Robbies podcast.
“Because I think Pep Lijnders, as we saw when he was here in Klopp’s number two, I think he’s supposed to be tactically really smart, come with good ideas, a good soundboard for the manager.
“At times (he) can do the odd press conference when the manager’s not in the right mood and just hold the fort a little bit.
“And I just feel that Pep has needed somebody over the last couple of seasons, probably since Arteta left.
“I’m not sure how close he’s been to, he’s got other coaches and works with them. But I just think Pep Lijnders is another great signing for Manchester City.”

What Jurgen Klopp previously said about Pep Lijnders
Lijnders has made a name for himself as one of the best coaches around thanks to his superb work with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
Klopp told the Liverpool media team in 2024: “The most influential guy in the last years, definitely at this club, was Pep Lijnders.
“The job he did is absolutely exceptional. The inspiration he is for me is absolutely exceptional.
“The relationship we grew is absolutely exceptional. Outstanding, everything.
“And I’m really looking forward to follow his way and to support if necessary. And if I can, I will definitely do.”
Lijnders has a track record of being a great coach to work with, Klopp once deeming him the “perfect mentor”.
It’ll be exciting to see how Lijnders gets on at City this season.
