Leeds United will need to move some players before the transfer window closes. Most of the players that have been left out of the plans for next season still remain at the club.
The likes of Patrick Bamford and Sam Greenwood are nowhere near getting a new club. Max Wober, and more recently Joe Gelhardt secured loan deals away. Illan Meslier could leave after being dropped down the pecking order; according to reports, he is being offered to clubs around Europe.

Last month, it was reported that German side Werder Bremen had reached an agreement with Leeds to sign Isaac Schmidt on loan.
But since then, the defender has remained with the club, and has featured in pre-season games. According to a report from Kicker, the Bundesliga side have not been able to progress the deal with Leeds – citing that the issue is from ‘both sides’.
Bremen are slowly losing confidence in completing a deal for Schmidt. The club kick off their season against Arminia Bielefeld in the DFB Pokal.
Daniel Farke still has to find a replacement
Part of the reason why the deal is being held up is from Leeds’ end. Daniel Farke wants a replacement before allowing Isaac Schmidt to leave. Jayden Bogle’s brief injury complicated things, as the Swiss fullback had to deputize during the pre-season tour.
It has been reported this week that the club could launch a move to sign James Justin from Leicester City. But for now, no official offer has been made.
What Bremen coach Horst Steffen has said
Werder Bremen have made just two signings this summer: Maximilian Wöber and Samuel Mbangula. Their Head Coach Horst Steffen has said to the media that he expects a few more deals to be completed soon.
“I certainly still hope that one or two transfers will come through,” Steffen told Kicker. “I’ve checked my phone every now and then and thought, ‘Okay, maybe there’s a message,’ but there hasn’t been anything yet. Whether or not there will be a third [incoming transfer], I just don’t know yet.’”
