Report: Odsonne Edouard's Crystal Palace stance as bargain basement fee for Celtic hero emerges

Celtic hero Odsonne Edouard appears to be on his way out of Crystal Palace this summer.

Edouard won multiple trophies at Parkhead before leaving Celtic to join Crystal Palace in a £14m move in 2021.

However, the Quadruple Treble winner struggled in the Premier League as Edouard scored just 21 goals in 103 appearances for Palace over four years at the club.

The former Celtic striker made just two appearances for the Eagles last season and now appears to be on his way out of the club this summer.

Celtic icon Odsonne Edouard is ‘set’ to leave Crystal Palace for Nantes

It seems that Palace are now keen to cut their losses and get Edouard’s £75,000 per week wages off their books.

And it appears that a bargain fee has been negotiated to do just that as the Celtic treble-winner moves on to the fourth club of his career.

The Daily Record says that Edouard is now ‘set’ to join French Ligue 1 side Nantes on a permanent deal this summer.

A fee of £3.4m is said to have been agreed for the former Celtic man and with just a year left on his contract, the French club appear to have got themselves a bargain.

The Odsonne Edouard Celtic goal that broke Rangers

Edouard was a huge success at Celtic winning four league titles, three Scottish Cups and four League Cups.

The big Frenchman also scored 87 goals and created 37 assists over 179 appearances for Celtic.

Indeed, Edouard’s most famous goal was the one he scored in the legendary 3-2 win over Rangers at Ibrox in 2018.

Have a watch of this:

It wasn’t long after that where Rangers started to cut Celtic’s allocation for the Ibrox Glasgow Derby but, my goodness, that goal was worth it.
