Man United are hopeful to sell several players after spending over £200m on new players this summer.

Ruben Amorim is preparing for his first game of the Premier League season against Arsenal on Sunday. However, the manager will still keep a keen eye on the transfer market, as he aims to complete the squad rebuild promised at the start of the window.

Man United have already spent over £200m on new players this summer, so they are in desperate need of some player sales, both to help recoup some of those funds, and stay on the right side of PSR.

Jadon Sancho is a player that United want to sell this summer, as the winger only has one year left on his contract, and he’s fallen completely out of favour with manager Amorim. He was on loan at Chelsea last season, but the Blues opted against paying his £25m obligation to buy.

Besiktas keen to sign Jadon Sancho

Sancho has attracted significant interest so far this summer. Juventus did look the most likely to sign him as they were in talks, however, the Italian club wants to get a few more players sold before bringing in Sancho due to his wages.

Furthermore, Sancho has also been linked with a return to Borussia Dortmund, but there haven’t been any serious talks over a move back to Germany yet. Fresh reports are now suggesting that Turkish side Besiktas could make a move for the 25-year-old this summer.

According to Journalist Rudy Galetti on X: “Besiktas are closely monitoring Sancho and would be ready to move fast, also with Man Utd, If Jadon's salary demands decrease. Juventus can’t proceed without exits, while BVB have him on the list but it’s not a priority as of now.”

Sancho currently earns £250,000 per week at United, and any exit would rely on him lowering his demands. But if he does, Besiktas are serious contenders in a deal for the winger.

Sancho could reunite with Solskjaer

In 2021, United signed Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for £73m, and the man that brought him to Old Trafford was Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. He could now re-unite with the former United boss, as Solskjaer is now the manager at Besiktas.

Sancho made 14 Premier League appearances under Solskjaer at Man United before the manager was sacked in 2021. But, even just after a short period, it became clear that the manager was a big fan of Sancho and his character and playing style.

He spoke during Ten Hag’s tenure at United on why Sancho could have struggled, but hailed Sancho’s ability. Solskjaer was quoted by SPORTbible: “I wanted to sign him. Manchester United will never sign a player the manager doesn’t want. When he arrived, he had to go to hospital and that was a setback as he couldn’t start the first games. He’s immensely talented and we haven’t seen the best of him. I hope we do.”
