Tottenham and West Ham United are looking closely at Facundo Buonanotte as a solution for their attacking midfield problem.
According to Sebastien Vidal, Tottenham and West Ham United are looking to explore a move for Facundo Buonanotte. The Brighton & Hove Albion prospect who spent the previous season on loan at Leicester City could be made available for a move, as the London duo explore further options to solve their attacking midfield problem.
Facubndo Buonanotte had a mixed season while on loan at Leicester City. At first, the young playmaker was a regular under Steve Cooper, but following the arrival of Ruud van Nistelrooy, his minutes disappeared for large parts, only to get back into the mix as the Foxes seemed destined for relegation.
Buonanotte showed plenty of promise, which has given Brighton & Hove Albion a sufficient response from the market with credible interest. Fabian Hurzeler may not view the attacking midfielder as part of his plans moving forward, which could open the doors for his sale.
Leeds United have been keen on signing Facundo Buonanotte, but there is big admiration from Tottenham and West Ham United. The latter are in the market for an attacking midfielder, having explored several options, including Newcastle United -bound Jacob Ramsey, while Southampton rejected a bid from the Hammers for Mateus Fernandes.
West Ham are being linked with Lorenzo Pellegrini as an experienced option, and now with the possible availability of Buonanotte, the Hammers may make a move for the 20-year-old playmaker. Should they offer regular game time and come to terms with what Brighton might want for the attacker, a deal could be done, as Sebastien Vidal mentions that another loan could be a possibility.
Tottenham consider Facundo Buonanotte as an option
Tottenham are likely to dash into the latter stages of the window to bring in an attacking midfielder following the injury to James Maddison. Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze remains a big target, but Spurs are likely keeping their options open with links to other stars in case Eze moves elsewhere, such as Arsenal.
Facundo Buonanotte could be a good enough option but not someone who elevates their quality instantly. He could be a good enough stop-gap option for Spurs to consider, especially if the 20-year-old playmaker is available on another loan move. However, Tottenham are likely to view Buonanotte as a fallback option rather than a primary target, as there are some high-profile players on their list at the moment.
