Two teenagers spotted in Malick Thiaw's first Newcastle United training session ahead of Aston…

Malick Thiaw has completed his first training session with his Newcastle United teammates.

It was confirmed on Tuesday that Thiaw has joined Newcastle United, with the 24-year-old bringing an end to the Magpies’ lengthy search for a centre-back.

Eddie Howe is excited about Thiaw’s arrival, and the defender will be keen to make his Toon debut as soon as possible.

It could happen on Saturday when Newcastle face Aston Villa in their Premier League opener. Thiaw has trained ahead of that game, and should be part of the Newcastle United squad that travel to Villa Park.

Newcastle United share video of Malick Thiaw’s first training session

It will be interesting to see whether or not Thiaw is joined by any Newcastle United youngsters, as Eddie Howe prepares his side for what should be a gruelling 2025/26 season.

The club have shared a short video on Instagram of Thiaw’s first training session as a Newcastle United player, and two teenagers are spotted taking part as well.

19-year-old Travis Hernes and 18-year-old Park Seung-soo are seen training alongside the Magpies’ senior stars ahead of the season opener against Aston Villa.

The duo are unlikely to make their Premier League debuts on Saturday, but it is encouraging for their futures that Howe has continued to keep them in and around the first-team ahead of the campaign kicking off.
