‘He’s got to’: Sam Allardyce says £63m Man United player needs to stop getting so angry all the time

Manchester United are coming off the back of their worst season in a generation.

Indeed, a 15th place Premier League finish last season was, quite simply unacceptable, and things need to improve.

Luckily, United have made steps towards improving this summer.

The Red Devils have been busy in the summer transfer window as Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha have all arrived.

Cunha is a very exciting signing, but speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football Podcast, Sam Allardyce has claimed that the Brazilian needs to control his temper to become a star at Manchester United.

Matheus Cunha needs to control his temper

Allardyce spoke about Cunha and his situation as he joins Manchester United.

According to the former England manager, the £63m man has a temper issue that needs curbing if he is to become a star at United.

Cunha had some discipline issues last season, and Allardyce is worried that they could carry over at Old Trafford.

“What he’s got to do is control his god damn temper,” Allardyce said.

“If he controls his god damn temper, yeah, Man United will see a centre forward they haven’t seen for a long, long time if he hits the ground running like he did at Wolves.”

“I’d go with eight out of 10. I’m going to go on eight because of his temperament.”

Manchester United stars have had temper issues

Allardyce says Cunha needs to calm down if he’s to fulfil his promise at Manchester United, but that may not in fact be the case.

Indeed, some of Manchester United’s greatest players ever were hot heads who lost their rag at times.

Eric Cantona kicked a fan and is arguably United’s greatest ever Premier League player, Roy Keane used to get so riled up on the pitch and he was a legend, while Wayne Rooney could get fairly angry at times too.

Yes, red cards are never ideal, but playing with that bit of an edge about you isn’t necessarily always a bad thing.

Cunha needs to just keep doing what he’s been doing because he was brilliant at Wolves.
