Crystal Palace and Norwich City have both made contact with Arsenal over a move for Dan Casey, with the Gunners still hoping to keep the youngster.

Back in early June, the Premier League confirmed that five of Arsenal’s academy players with expiring contracts were in negotiations over possible extensions.

Dan Casey, Louie Copley, Cam’ron Ismail, Will Sweet, and Daniel Oyetunde all saw their scholarship deals come to an end this summer, meaning Arsenal had to agree professional terms or watch them leave.

Copley, Ismail, Sweet, and Oyetunde have all since extended their contracts, but Casey’s situation remains ongoing.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are still in ongoing talks over Casey, having tabled an offer to keep him. Yet Crystal Palace and Norwich City have also made contact with the Gunners over a potential transfer.

As mentioned, Casey is out of contract, but given his age (17) and the offer on the table from Arsenal, Palace or Norwich would need to agree a compensation package with the Gunners to sign him.

Casey scored 21 goals for the Arsenal u18s in 2024/25, netting 18 times in 21 games in the u18 Premier League, twice in three games in the FA Youth Cup, and once in two u18 Premier League Cup appearances.

The teenager also made the step up to the u19s and the u21s on eight occasions, though he was less impactful in those limited minutes, with no goals or assists above u18 football so far.

That would surely change if he steps up to the u21s on a permanent basis this campaign, but first he has to extend his contract. As it stands, a departure to either Palace or Norwich appears likely.
