Liverpool have been strongly linked with completing a move for Crystal Palace and England centre-back Marc Guehi,
The Reds have aggressively spent money in the transfer market so far and now have their eyes set on Marc Guehi. The 25-year-old defender has held talks with Liverpool’s entourage over a move to Anfield this summer, as confirmed by reliable sources.
Crystal Palace could be lured into selling the defender this summer. The Eagles chairman, Steve Parish, spoke regarding the same and confirmed that the defender could be available for sale this window for a fee in the region of £40 million which would be an absolute steal.
Why sell Guehi?
Newcastle United were massively interested in securing the services of the centre back, but failed to convince Crystal Palace to approve a sale last summer and are not favourites to land him this summer despite needing a centre back.
The former Chelsea man has run into final 12 months of his contract at Crystal Palace. The club would have to reluctantly lose their star defender on a free transfer despite rejecting multiple bids for Guehi last summer should they not sell him now.
Liverpool, too, will have convincing to do on the player end, even if they agree on terms with Crystal Palace. It is not certain that Guehi will directly slot into the playing eleven at Anfield, with one space permanently occupied by Virgil van Dijk.
The young defender would consider game time an important factor, considering that the following year has the FIFA World Cup scheduled. The Englishman will be gunning for a spot in the squad that travels to North America.

Barely anything to choose from in clearances, with only 0.2 pushing Guehi in front. The English defender is also better off at Interceptions, Blocked Shots and Ball Recoveries.
Should a deal materialise in the coming days, Arne Slot will be delighted. The addition of an established and proven Premier League central defender will help him defend the title with greater ease.
Newcastle will be gutted should they lose Isak and Guehi to Liverpool.
