Some things you didn’t know about this soon to be Liverpool star

Liverpool faithful have been anxiously waiting for the completion of the transfer of Newcastle United’s ace forward Alexander Isak.

The transfer saga has stretched through much of the summer, but could soon be coming to a conclusion. It seems like the relevant parties have been dealt their hands, and it only seems a matter of time before they wrap up the formalities.

Liverpool have spent lavishly this summer and will yet be in a comfortable position to splash the bucks for Isak. The club had tabled a £110 million bid for the striker, which the Magpies were quick to turn down as it did not meet their expectations.

Eddie Howe’s team are seeking to fetch approximately £150 million for the services of the Swedish poacher. While the transfer battle plays itself we at Essential Football present to you 4 interesting things you probably never knew about Alexander Isak – the player who is set to take the center stage at Anfield in a matter of few weeks.

Youngest goal scorer – Swedish system

Right from an early age Alexander had been drawing the eyeballs to himself with credible performances in front of goal.

He became the youngest ever goal scorer in the Swedish footballing system history. At just 16 years and 199 days Isak got on the scoresheet for his boyhood club, AIK, which turned out to be the winning goal of the match.

Youngest goal scorer – Sweden National Team

His exploits with AIK in front of goal did not go unnoticed and quickly got him the call up to the senior national team.

When he netted the goal at the age of 17 years and 113 days, Isak broke a 104 year old Swedish record – remarkable achievement.

Broke Zlatan’s record!

Not many footballers can boast of this record; outdoing Zlatan Ibrahimovic is considered almost impossible in the footballing world.

During the 2023/24 season, the lanky striker scored 21 goals and overcame Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Swedish player to score the most goals in a Premier League season.

Eredivisie goal-scoring record

During a loan spell in the Dutch league with Willem II, Isak became the first foreign born player to score 12 goals in his first 12 league appearances.

He also achieved another record in the process of becoming the first player to score three spot kicks in a single game.

Isak is proven in the premier league and looks like his destiny is set for Liverpool unless late window complications scupper his move.

Liverpool look like they will be the favourites for the title but also do well in the Champions League once their new squad members settle in.
