Manchester United's Alejandro Garnacho has reportedly agreed terms with Chelsea.

The 21-year-old forward was the subject of a £60million bid from Napoli in January, but United chose to retain him, instead loaning out Marcus Rashford and Antony alongside Jadon Sancho.

Despite showing promise, the Argentinian international was left out of the starting line-up for the Europa League final against Tottenham in May by Ruben Amorim, sparking a strong reaction from the player.

He has since expressed his wish to seek new opportunities this summer. Chelsea, who have long been interested in Garnacho, are now seemingly on the verge of securing their target.

According to Ben Jacobs of GiveMeSport, Chelsea have agreed personal terms with Garnacho. The former Atletico Madrid youth player is 'waiting' for a move to Stamford Bridge as negotiations between the clubs progress, reports the Manchester Evening News.

United are asking for £50m for Garnacho, believing he should not be sold for much less than the £52m Chelsea received for Noni Madueke, who transferred to Arsenal last month.

However, Chelsea know that United need to offload players, particularly if they hope to secure a record-breaking deal for Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba before the transfer window closes.

Garnacho is pure profit for United, and Chelsea are hoping to secure a deal for less than £40m, having already splashed out over £240m on ten players, including Jamie Gittens and Jorrel Hato.

Last season, Garnacho netted 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 matches for the Reds, proving himself as one of their standout performers in Europe. Discussing his future after limited game time in the Europa League final, Garnacho said: "Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know.

"The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and then see what happens afterwards."

Meanwhile, United's head coach Amorim offered some insight into Garnacho's future during the club's pre-season tour in the United States earlier this month. "I think Garnacho, you can understand and you can see, he's talented, he's a really talented boy," Amorim stated.

"And sometimes things don't work out.

"You cannot explain specifically what it is.

"But I have the feeling, I think it's clear that Garnacho wants a different thing with a different leadership. And I can understand that. So I think it's not a problem.

"Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have the connection. Other times, you want a new challenge. So, we try to make everything okay to all the parts. To the club, to the coach and to the players. So, it's a natural thing in football."
