Arsenal’s 15-year-old sensation Max Dowman has been listed as a forward in the club’s official first-team squad on the Premier League website, signalling the high expectations surrounding the Hale End academy product.

With the official registration deadline for the 2025/26 season still weeks away, his inclusion marks a major milestone in the teenager’s rapid rise, though current league rules may delay his competitive debut.

Dowman, who turned 15 on December 31, 2024, is regarded as one of Arsenal’s brightest prospects since Bukayo Saka. A versatile attacking midfielder who often operates from the right wing, he impressed during the Gunners’ pre-season tour of Asia, notably winning a penalty against Newcastle United after gliding past senior players like Joelinton.

His sharp vision, fearless dribbling, and ability to break defensive lines have drawn comparisons to Martin Odegaard and fellow academy graduate Ethan Nwaneri.

15-years-old with only 13 minutes on the pitch and Max Dowman produced his magic once again for Arsenal in pre-season.

Last season, Dowman was outstanding for Arsenal’s U18s, scoring 19 goals and providing five assists in 23 matches despite playing above his age group. He also shone for England at the U17 European Championship, scoring a memorable solo goal against the Czech Republic, a display that led Declan Rice to label him “the best 15-year-old in the country.”

Dowman is now eligible to play in the Premier League and Champions League as he is now listed as an U16 player.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has spoken glowingly about the youngster’s potential while stressing the need to protect his development. “We certainly have a big, big talent there,” Arteta said in May. “The academy has done an incredible job to protect him, inspire him, and challenge him.”

Dowman is expected to train regularly with the first team this season, with Arsenal eyeing a gradual integration similar to Nwaneri’s pathway into senior football.
