Jaguars Reportedly Had Bad Practice On Thursday

There is plenty of excitement about what the Jacksonville Jaguars are capable of this season with a new coaching staff and new weapons to hopefully wipe the slate clean.

Much of the pressure is on franchise quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the offense to take a big step forward now that head coach and offensive guru Liam Coen is running the show.

While there is plenty of reason for optimism, the Jaguars reportedly had a miserable practice recently that showed they still have some work to do.

“Worst Jaguars offensive practice I’ve witnessed since Blake Bortles’ five-INT night. At least 7 dropped passes, 10 penalty flags, several sacks and sloppiness all around,” Mark Long wrote on X.

Pre-snap penalties have been an issue throughout camp, and it sounds like that issue came to a head.

The positive spin would be that everyone is learning an entirely new offense, and there unquestionably will be some growing pains as they learn to get on the same page.

The offense looked solid in the first preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Lawrence completed six of seven passes for 43 yards and led the team to an opening-drive field goal in his only series.

Jacksonville committed two penalties on the drive, so it’s important the Jaguars clean this up in order for the offense to reach its highest level.
