The Milwaukee Bucks seem have filled out their 15-man roster for the 2025-26 NBA season. For a few weeks now, many fans expected the team to perhaps sign Thanasis Antetokounmpo, the older brother of Giannis Antetokounmpo, who had been on the team for several seasons before missing all of last year with a torn Achilles. However, the Bucks, and particularly Giannis, seemed to play better when he was in attendance as a fan, leading some to encourage Milwaukee to get a deal done with him.
Others, however, felt that the Bucks would be better suited going after another shooter, a player who could add depth and firepower to their bench. As it turns out, the front office agreed with these fans, signing yet another high-volume and accurate three-point shooter to their roster.

Earlier today, it was reported that the Bucks had agreed to a one-year contract with veteran wing Amir Coffey, who spent the first six seasons of his NBA career with the Los Angeles Clippers:
Free agent forward Amir Coffey has agreed to a one-year deal with the Milwaukee Bucks, sources tell ESPN. Coffey spent his first six NBA seasons with the Clippers, averaging 9.7 points, 47.1% field-goal shooting and 40.9% from 3 in 2024-25. pic.twitter.com/mHHrD3qwZa

Last season, Coffey, a shooting guard/small forward, averaged 9.7 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists primarily in a bench role for the Clippers. He also shot 47/41/89 from the field while playing a career-high 24.3 minutes per game.
Based off of this signing, it is very clear what Milwaukee’s plan is on how they will be competitive during the 2025-26 NBA season.
The Milwaukee Bucks Add Amir Coffey in an Effort to Surround Giannis Antetokounmpo with Elite Shooters

Earlier this offseason, the Bucks made several roster decisions that, they hope, will lead to more wins and a deeper run in the NBA Playoffs. With Giannis, a two-time NBA MVP, already under contract, and who dominates by driving to the basket, Milwaukee felt it best to surround him with the best shooters they could find.
By waiving and stretching Damian Lillard, the Bucks were able to re-sign several of their own players from last year and add some intriguing talent on the free agent market.
Below are the current players expected to play key roles on Milwaukee’s roster and their three-point percentage from last season:
Myles Turner: 40%
Amir Coffey: 41%
Bobby Portis: 37%
Gary Trent Jr.: 42%
Taurean Prince: 44%
AJ Green: 43%
Kevin Porter Jr. 31% (41% after he was traded to Milwaukee)
Ryan Rollins: 41%
Kyle Kuzma: 33%
Gary Harris: 36%
Cole Anthony: 35%
Giannis Antetokounmpo: 22%
Jericho Sims: 0%
As one can see, almost half of the players vying for rotational minutes shoot at least 40% from the floor. The concept, of course, is that the offense will be centered around Giannis, who is the best player in the NBA in terms of driving into the lane and drawing the defense in. At that point, he will either be able to finish at the rim, draw a foul, or kick the ball out to one of the many elite shooters on the team.
