Transfer news and rumours: Brentford 'closing' in on Bournemouth attacker

Brentford are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sign attacker Dango Ouattara from Bournemouth.

Ouattara had recently informed the Cherries that he wanted to 'explore his options' before the transfer window slams shut on September 1.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Burkina Faso international is now closing in on a move to fellow Premier League side Brentford.

The update claims that Brentford are nearing an agreement with Bournemouth over a deal worth £42.5m.

The two clubs are expected to finalise the deal 'imminently', with Ouattara understood to be keen to join Keith Andrews's side.

There is a belief that Ouattara's signing will pave the way for striker Yoane Wissa to join Newcastle United.

Ouattara will offer Andrews great versatility due to his ability to play out wide and through the middle as a centre-forward.

Atletico open negotiations for Juventus winger

Over in Spain, Atletico Madrid have reportedly opened talks over a potential move for Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez.

Atleti have already strengthened Diego Simeone's attacking options with the additions of Alex Baena, Giacomo Raspadori and Thiago Almada.

However, they still appear to be keen to recruit another attacker in the final few weeks of the summer transfer window.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Atletico are in discussions with Juventus over a deal for Gonzalez.

There is a possibility that Gonzalez could move to Atleti in a permanent transfer rather than a loan deal.

Juventus will likely look to sign a new winger if they can offload a player who is under contract until the summer of 2028.

Ipswich agree Azon loan deal

Meanwhile, in the Championship, Ipswich Town are reportedly set to sign striker Ivan Azon on loan from Serie A side Como.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Azon is set to be unveiled as an Ipswich player after the Championship club reached an agreement with Como over a season-long loan deal.

The Tractor Boys will pay €2m (£1.7m) loan fee to add the Spanish forward to Kieran McKenna's forward options.

The deal contains an obligation to buy Azon for just under €15m (£13m) if Ipswich secure an immediate return to the Premier League this season.

Azon is set to leave Como just over six months after joining the Italian club from Spanish outfit Real Zaragoza.

The 22-year-old's arrival is likely to open the door for striker Ali Al-Hamadi to leave Portman Road before the end of the transfer window.
