One day after undergoing a procedure to repair an injury to his right knee, Philadelphia Eagles guard Landon Dickerson was back on the practice field on Thursday – not to practice, but to bring the beer.
The former Alabama All-American sustained a meniscus injury on Sunday night during the NFL team’s public practice at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. Dickerson underwent surgery on Wednesday.
But on Thursday, with a sleeve on his right leg the only indication of his injury, Dickerson walked across the field at the conclusion of the Eagles’ joint practice with the Cleveland Browns carrying a soft-sided cooler.
Dickerson handed out cans of Miller Lite and joined Philadelphia tackle Lane Johnson in chatting with a group of Cleveland Browns offensive linemen.
“I think for Landon, nothing’s ever too serious,” Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said when asked at his Wednesday press conference about Dickerson’s injury. “You know, he’s one that’s always playing through something and has a great competitive spirit, has an edge to overcome some of those nicks that come up. And so always good to hear that he’s in a good place.”
Reports have indicated the three-time Pro Bowl guard might be able to return to the lineup in time for Philadelphia’s season-opening game on Sept. 4, when the Eagles will play the Dallas Cowboys in the first contest of the NFL’s 2025 regular season.
The Eagles and Browns practiced together for the second straight day on Thursday. The teams will meet in a preseason game at noon CDT Saturday in Philadelphia.
