Longtime FOX Sports broadcaster Chris Myers joined The Drive Guys on Thursday to share how he believes the San Francisco 49ers will stack up in 2025.
Myers said Brock Purdy “can only get better” from here and expressed his confidence in San Francisco’s offense if they’re healthy.
With that crucial caveat, he dove into the importance of Christian McCaffrey and how their receiving room can survive the extended absence of Brandon Aiyuk.
The Drive Guys also asked Myers about his impressions of 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan based on their interactions.

Sharing a few stories as an example of Shanahan’s blunt transparency, it was an interesting perspective on the coach who isn’t afraid to step out of the box.
Plus, how does San Francisco stack up in the NFC West and plenty more.

More San Francisco 49ers coverage on Sactown Sports
Brock Purdy is entering his fourth NFL season, his third consecutive as the starting quarterback of the San Francisco 49ers. Coming in as Mr. Irrelevant (the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft), it took time for him to build the trust of his teammates and coaches.
While San Francisco didn’t have much of an option when Purdy first got an opportunity due to injuries, they could’ve looked to replace him in the three years since, but haven’t.
He’s clearly the guy 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan are willing to bet on.
Purdy talked about his growing trust with Shanahan when joining The Richard Sherman Podcast earlier this week.
