"We didn't get any points (last season).
"We’ve never got one point against Liverpool (in Iraola’s time at the club).
"I think it's the only club that we've never got a point against
"I think we do certain things that are uncomfortable for teams but for Liverpool, because even if you play very fast and very demanding games, and very rock and roll, they are ready for it.
"They are the best ones doing this.
"So, we have to change a little bit the approach if we want to hurry them because it's a difficult matchup for us."
Despite good results against top clubs in the Premier League last season, Iraola said he did not "think it was realistic" for his club to challenge for spots in European competition next season.
"I think in the Premier League there are eight, nine clubs that are better than the other 11 clubs.
"There is a gap there, that is true.
"That past season, some clubs, we got closer and we were close to this (Europe), but I think with the market and this gap has become even bigger, and obviously in the other standings from the other teams, we want to finish as high as we can, no?
"But, I don't think it's realistic, no."
He also said clubs can "never be confident" playing away at Anfield and that it is always "challenging" to play there.
"We don't want to be just the guests in their party," said Iraola.
"Its the champions first game of the season, someone has to be there in front of this.
"But no, we want to be something else and put them into more pressure."
Regardless of his apprehension ahead of the opening round match up, Iraola said he was "excited to start again the season".
"I think the preseason is always a time for preparation.
"But now when you see also that we are the first game of the Premier League, a lot of people are watching us and I hope we are at the level of, because it's going to be, I think a big game."
