‘Very focused’ – Hull City man has say on future amid Crystal Palace interest

Hull City defender Cody Drameh has said his future is with the Tigers amid links to Crystal Palace.

Hull City intend to keep hold of the right-back this summer. HCAFC have embarked on another year in the Championship.

Drameh, 23, is under contract until June 2027 and has been on Crystal Palace’s radar, according to Football Insider. DerbyshireLive have claimed Derby County are keen, whilst Sky Sports have reported Blackburn Rovers are admirers.

However, he has now plans to leave and has told HullLive: “I’ve, really, really enjoyed it. For me, the gaffer (Sergej Jakirovic) has been super, super chilled, and I’m kind of a bit of a chilled guy, so we have meshed together quite well. I really, really like his tactics, his man management as well, so yes, it’s been a nice fit, a nice change of pace. It’s all about keeping playing, keeping getting by, training, and just listening to the gaffer and just doing the best I can.

“I don’t really pay attention too much to the outside noise. I’m just very focused on myself and my football. My future’s with Hull City. I’ve got two years left on my contract, plus a year on the club side, so that’s what it is for me.”

Hull City latest regarding Cody Drameh

Hull City signed Drameh to boost their defensive department. He has since made 31 appearances in all competitions for HCAFC, 29 of which have come in the league.

He wasn’t a regular starter for the Tigers in the last campaign. The London-born man found it hard to get into the starting XI ahead of their skipper Lewie Coyle.

However, with Coyle now injured, Drameh has a perfect chance to stake his claim in his preferred position. He spent a lot of time during his first year at left-back.

What now for Hull City and Cody Drameh?

Hull City shouldn’t sell Drameh now after his impressive pre-season and turnaround under Sergej Jakirovic. He provides solid competition and depth for HCAFC.

Prior to joining his current club, he spent four years on the books at Leeds United and featured for their first-team on 10 occasions. The former Fulham man also had loan spells away from Elland Road at Cardiff City, Luton Town and Birmingham City to get some experience under his belt.

The Tigers are back in league action this weekend with a home clash against Oxford United. They drew 0-0 away at Coventry City on the opening day before they lost on penalties to Wrexham in the first round of the Carabao Cup.
