“Out of pure respect” – John Terry on how he helps Levi Colwill and Reece James

Chelsea legend John Terry has been speaking about how he helps Levi Colwill and Reece James at Chelsea right now.

Terry is of course doing some coaching work at Chelsea amongst the youth ranks in the academy, but it doesn’t look like he’s going to become a manager anywhere anytime soon.

EXCLUSIVE! Enzo Maresca asks Chelsea to sign a new centre back!!

Terry was one of the best centre backs to ever play the game and so when he speaks, players these days should absolutely listen. And that is what is happening right now with Terry, Levi Colwill, and Reece James.

Colwill is currently out with a long term injury of course, so I’m sure Terry’s words and help right now will be a huge benefit for him as he goes through a tough moment.

James is the club captain, so having words from the best ever player to captain Chelsea in my opinion, will also be a massive help for him.

In an interview with The Sun this week, Terry said on helping Colwill and James:

“We talk generally about football and some situations — but it’s super relaxed. Out of pure respect, I don’t get too involved because I fully respect the manager and his role.

“But the boys know I’m always there if they need me. Not just the defenders but the ones that have just arrived. Always here to help. That’s my role as someone who has been at Chelsea for so long and the club means the world to me.”

Great use of time

If I was a player in the professional game right now and had a chance to speak with Terry regularly, I would be all over that and making the most of his knowledge and motivation.
