Man United must hold firm as Chelsea look to sign Garnacho in a'cut-price deal'

Chelsea are reportedly hopeful that Manchester United will drop their Alejandro Garnacho asking price from £50m to £35m, as the Blues look to secure a deal for the Argentina international in the near future.

Garnacho was told by Man United head coach Ruben Amorim at the end of last season that he was on the transfer list this summer, and Chelsea have emerged as the firm favourites to secure his signature.

Napoli had two offers for the ex-Atletico Madrid youngster turned down in January, and there is thought to be interest from clubs across Europe, but Garnacho is said to want to remain in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old is already believed to have to come to an agreement with Chelsea over personal terms, but the London club have not yet managed to settle on a price with Man United.

At the start of the transfer window, the Red Devils are believed to have placed a £70m valuation on Garnacho, but their stance has now allegedly altered, with the club prepared to accept in the region of £50m.

Chelsea 'hoping' to sign Garnacho for £35m this summer

According to talkSPORT, Chelsea are hoping to a deal in the region of £35m, with the London club believing that to be a fair price considering that Man United are so keen to move him on.

Chelsea are said to be looking to 'make significant steps' before the end of the week, and a deal could be concluded quite quickly once a price has been agreed between the two clubs.

Garnacho scored 11 goals and registered 10 assists in 58 appearances for Man United last term, but he fell out with Red Devils head coach Amorim following the Europa League final.

The attacker was named on the bench for the clash with Tottenham Hotspur, and he criticised Amorim after the match, while his agent and brother also had some strong words for the Man United boss.

Man United should hold firm with £50m valuation

Considering the amount of money that has been paid for certain players this summer, Man United have every right to hold firm on their £50m valuation, as £35m is not enough for the Argentina international.

Garnacho is set to leave Man United with a record of 26 goals and 22 assists in 144 appearances, which are strong numbers for a player still in the early stages of his career.

The Red Devils need to bank some healthy funds before the market closes due to the amount of money that has been spent, and £50m is a fair price for Garnacho, so Amorim's team must hold firm despite their obvious desire to move him on.
