TBR Football understands that Ederson has confirmed to Manchester City he wants to join Galatasaray, which has resulted in talks being opened with Gianluigi Donnarumma’s camp.
Ederson has been linked with an exit all summer, and turned down a transfer to Saudi Arabia last year. He is out of contract at City at the end of the season, and could now leave a year before that deal expires.
If a deal can be reached for Ederson, with Galatasaray his preferred destination, then City will move for Donnarumma.

They have already added James Trafford and Marcus Bettinelli to their goalkeeping department this summer as Scott Carson departed. Stefan Ortega could also leave in a shake-up at the back.
Ederson tells Man City he wants to join Galatasaray this summer
City have thus far been strong in their stance over Ederson that they would ideally like to keep the Brazilian.
City and Ederson had been due to hold contract talks earlier in the year, but those were called off and since then the Brazilian has been open to offers and terms have been agreed with Galatasaray – as we have revealed.

Now TBR Football chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can confirm that Ederson has now spoken with City’s hierarchy and confirmed to the club’s new sporting director Hugo Viana that he wants to move to Istanbul.
Galatasaray and City are yet to agree terms but sources have confirmed that they are getting closer and that has now seen City decide they do need to replace him.
Man City in driving seat to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma ahead of Man Utd and Chelsea
As TBR Football revealed in July, Donnarumma has been on City’s radar and now things are advancing. Donnarumma has one year left on his current deal at PSG and has been told he can leave the Parc Des Princes.
Chelsea and Manchester United have both been approached, and shown some interest, but it is City who have accelerated talks in recent days.

Bailey said: “I am told that Ederson has made it clear to City that he wants to leave and believe it is a matter of when he goes not if now.
“City are one of the sides who have been considering Donnarumma since it became known last month that he would be available and now sources have confirmed to us that following high-level talks at the Etihad that have decided to move for Donnarumma.
“I can confirm talks have now taken place and am told from both sides that they went well. Whilst nothing is agreed, things have progressed in the last day or so. Man City are very much in the driving seat to land Donnarumma at this point.”
