Man Utd still hope to sign Carlos Baleba before transfer deadline day and here is the latest news.
Manchester United have received an official bid for Jadon Sancho as they look to raise funds and finance a move for Carlos Baleba before transfer deadline day. Ruben Amorim has been backed with roughly £200 million to add four new signings to his first-team squad and is well aware player sales are required to fund any further additions.
United would love to sign a mobile midfielder in the final fortnight of the summer window, with Brighton star Baleba viewed as the perfect fit for their tactical approach. A move won't be easy, though after the South Coast club made it clear they have no plans to sell the 21-year-old and would only do so if it was on their terms.
Any hope of a deal will likely hinge on player sales and United could take an important step towards their dream transfer after Roma made an approach for Jadon Sancho.

Sancho sale could fund Baleba move
Roma have made a £20 million offer to sign Jadon Sancho from Manchester United in the summer transfer window. It is understood the Serie A side would like to bring the 25-year-old in on an initial season-long loan move with an obligation to make the deal permanent next summer.
It isn't very straightforward though, given Sancho has entered the final year of his current deal and would be available to leave as a free agent next summer anyway. Unless there is a guaranteed future fee, it means Roma could effectively sign Sancho on loan and then offer him a contract to avoid a transfer fee next year.
There are sure to be plenty more twists and turns in the final fortnight of the transfer window and Fabrizio Romano has explained how player sales will hold the key to any move for Carlos Baleba. "Now we mention Manchester United. The focus is on different things. Which things? Carlos Baleba," he said in a YouTube video. “Contacts are continuing on a daily basis with his agents and also with Brighton. For Manchester United in order to present an official bid and to understand if it is worth negotiating with Brighton, it is important to understand more on the outgoings. Selling players for Manchester United or finding solutions for the players who are not part of the squad is really important.”
"Jadon Sancho, official bid arrived from Roma. Roma have offered a loan with an obligation to buy, quite easy to activate. This loan with obligation is worth a transfer fee of £20 million as a total package of loan fee and the option to buy the player. It will be an obligation with easy conditions.
"Sancho is open to making a move to Italy but still waiting to see if he is going to agree personal terms with Roma. For sure he is in conversations with Roma, he is still quite open to that. Sancho has still not opened the doors to Turkish clubs, Besiktas were interested but he never opened the doors. Sancho is giving priority to Europe.
"Sancho, Garnacho, Antony could be important for Manchester United to raise some money and see what happens with the Carlos Baleba story. Baleba is keen on a move to Manchester United, open to joining Manchester United, no problems on personal terms. But the deal depends on Brighton and Brighton will not make it easy. But Man United are still there for Baleba and contacts are continuing."
