Hope ‘tentative leads’ turn into major offer from Newcastle United – Rush on for transfer

In May, Gazzetta dello Sport reported that Newcastle United were ‘above all’ in the race to sign Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic.

Over the past few weeks it’s become clear the Old Lady are struggling to offload the Serbian, who earns a major wage in Turin, and there is near desperation to sell him this summer to avoid a free agent exit next year.

Gazzetta dello Sport now report that there are no obvious options regarding Vlahovic’s future. There are ‘tentative leads’ regarding Newcastle United, and Juve hope this leads to a major offer from the Magpies.

Whether the two parties will be able to agree on favourable terms due to the lack of time left in the window is unknown, but Eddie Howe’s side are believed to hold some interest in the 25-year-old.

Barcelona can also compete with Newcastle United, as the Catalan side also hold minor interest. They have been keeping an eye on him for a while but have never really made a formal move.

Juve are also considering the possibility of keeping the Serbian until the end of his contract, especially if no clubs make offers.

Any move from Newcastle United for Vlahovic may hinge on Alexander Isak’s future, but both the players have different profiles and this may not help the Tyneside club… or Juve.
