The Norwegian striker spoke candidly to an intimate audience of 40 fans at a special ‘Evening With’ event, designed in collaboration with Erling himself, in support of City in the Community (CITC).
Guests enjoyed a curated dinner, a private Q&A, and the chance to have their photo taken with the City number nine, with all proceeds directly supporting CITC programmes across Greater Manchester.

During the Q&A, Haaland said his favourite nickname so far was “a Viking – long hair, ruthless, I like that”.
He also shared his earliest City memory — celebrating Sergio Agüero’s famous title-winning goal against QPR with his dad — and spoke about his pride in being part of the Club’s captains group this season.
“I’ve always wanted to play in England, and from day one City has felt like home,” he told the audience. “It is physical, difficult but I still love it and I’m enjoying every moment.
“Now it’s about continuing to push myself and the team. I’ve never seen Pep so motivated – it’s amazing to see.”
Over the course of the night, Haaland discussed a wide range of topics, including his dreams as a child, his standout goals, ambitions for Norway, life off the pitch, and his desire to win every trophy available.
The evening also featured a ‘Question of Erling’ quiz, an inspiring talk from a CITC participant turned staff member, and an auction of one-of-a-kind memorabilia. Proceeds will help the charity continue to empower healthier lives through football.
Reflecting on the event, Haaland said: “Manchester’s a special place for me, and I’ve seen for myself what City in the Community means to people here. Things like this show how football can really change lives.”
CITC CEO, Mike Geary, added: “Erling’s personal commitment to this event has an incredible impact on our fundraising calendar. We are grateful to him and to the supporters who joined us to make a difference.”
A select number of free tickets were reserved for fans who attended last week’s ‘City are Back’ event at the Joie Stadium, with names drawn at random on the day.
The lucky winners were able to enjoy the dinner and meet Erling at no cost, while proceeds from our other attendees will directly support CITC programmes.
