Barcelona are working quickly behind the scenes to ensure goalkeeper Joan Garcia is officially registered with La Liga before tonight.

In fact, according to Juli Claramunt, the club has already prepared all the necessary documents and plans to send them to La Liga this afternoon.

The aim is to have Garcia registered in time so he can travel with the team as an eligible player.

There is strong belief within the club that the registration will be completed tonight. Barcelona confirmed on Thursday that they can use 80% of Marc-Andre ter Stegen’s salary margin to sign Garcia, guaranteeing his place in the squad for the rest of the season.

This salary adjustment has given the club the financial room needed to make the move happen without complications.

The delay in registering Garcia yesterday was due to Barcelona making a late attempt to also push through the registration of Marcus Rashford, a deal that would require La Liga’s approval. The board is still waiting for the league’s decision on that matter.

While Garcia’s situation looks positive, other registrations remain uncertain. Barcelona face Mallorca this weekend, but it is now considered very unlikely that both Wojciech Szczesny and Gerard Martin will be registered before Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, there is a possibility that summer signing Rooney Bardghji could be registered with the reserve team, which would allow him to feature in future matches. However, that option is also not confirmed.

For now, Joan Garcia’s expected registration stands out as the biggest piece of good news for Barcelona this week.

With several transfer and registration matters still unresolved, securing Garcia’s place in the squad gives Hansi Flick a much-needed boost in goal as the season’s fixtures start to intensify.
