Manchester City winger Savinho is keen to have a “more prominent role” ahead of next year’s World Cup, according to reports in Brazil.
The 21-year-old has been the subject of interest from Tottenham, and Globo Esporte claims he wants to join Thomas Frank’s side so he can get more minutes.
At the moment, there is no agreement between the two sides, with the Brazilian news outlet reporting that the Cityzens rejected a €70m (£60m) proposal from Spurs earlier this week.

It is not believed to be the end of the matter, though, as the North London club have already promised they will return with a new offer soon.
Savinho’s playing time last season
After joining from Troyes in July 2024, the Brazilian international went on to play over 3000 minutes in all competitions for City.
Savinho was given 36 starts in total by manager Pep Guardiola, so you do have to question his reasoning for wanting to leave the Etihad Stadium.
It should be pointed out that Julian Alvarez also cited the same reason for leaving last summer, despite playing nearly 3500 minutes during the 2023/24 campaign, so you do feel there is more going on beneath the surface.
Who could Man City sign as his replacement?
Respected journalist Fabrizio Romano has already stated that Real Madrid’s Rodrygo is the player who has been identified if Savinho leaves.
The 24-year-old is not a key player for Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso, and he could be offloaded before the transfer window shuts on September 1st.
However, Rodrygo does have other suitors, including Arsenal and Liverpool. Monaco’s Maghnes Akliouche has been mentioned as a potential alternative. An approach for either winger will clearly hinge on whether Tottenham return with an acceptable offer for Savinho over the coming days.
