Panathinaikos president Yiannis Alafouzos has laid out the club’s asking price for Fotis Ioannidis amid reported interest from Leeds United.
Leeds are known to be in the market for a centre forward, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin expected to complete his move to Elland Road imminently.
As a result, it was something of a surprise when the BBC reported that the club was chasing a deal for Panathinaikos forward Fotis Ioannidis.
As Leeds scour the market for attacking talent, including AC Milan’s Noah Okafor, Panathinaikos’ desired fee for the Greek international striker has been disclosed.

Panathinaikos will demand £26 million for Fotis Ioannidis
According to the Greek publication, Ole.GR, Panathinaikos’ president Yiannis Alafouzos has already clearly stated how much it will take for the club to consider an offer for Ioannidis.
Italian club Fiorentina made an enquiry for the striker in June, stating that they were willing to offer between 15 and 17 million euros for the striker.

The Greek club swiftly knocked this back, as Alafouzos stated: “It’s true, Fiorentina have shown interest in Fotis since June, but they haven’t met our demands. We won’t sell Ioannidis for less than 30 million euros [£26 million].”
This valuation puts Ioannidis in a similar bracket to Leeds’ other reported target, Artem Dovbyk, who could leave AS Roma this summer.

However, this could be a moot point as Leeds United News understands that the Whites’ move for Calvert-Lewin means their priorities lie elsewhere.
Sources: Leeds United are not in the running for Fotis Ioannidis
Leeds United News sources have confirmed that the club is not targeting Ioannidis following the deal to sign Calvert-Lewin.
Whilst Leeds remain in the market for attacking reinforcements, the club is now prioritising a wide forward who is also capable of playing at number nine, rather than an out-and-out centre forward such as Ioannidis.
Leeds United News also understands that Calvert-Lewin has been given assurances that he is their main target and that he will compete for a regular first-team place.
