Man Utd face Arsenal in the Premier League opener this weekend and here is the early team news.

Manchester United have been handed a double injury boost ahead of their clash with Arsenal on the opening weekend of the Premier League. United face a tough test when the new league campaign begins on Sunday afternoon, but there is some encouraging team news for Ruben Amorim.

Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee are both available for selection, though defensive duo Noussair Mazraoui and Lisandro Martinez have both been ruled out of the clash. Onana was confident he would return to action this weekend after he missed the entire pre-season friendly schedule and he is in line to start the match.

Zirkzee should give Amorim another attacking option from the bench, but competition is fierce to start after the summer arrivals of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko to the forward line.

Speaking ahead of the Arsenal clash at his pre-match press conference, the United head coach issued a team news update for the opening day. "Nous and Licha are out," he said. "They cannot play this game, Josh and Andre recovered. They are options for this game."

Sesko could be in line to make his debut in the match after he completed his move from RB Leipzig a week ago, but Amorim did not reveal whether or not he would start against Arsenal. He added: “First of all, we have more than three, so they are fighting for the places.

“I am really happy, I think he has great potential, he can play different types of football, he is going to feel Premier League is very aggressive he is going to learn but he has great potential but I can see Ben being a striker for Manchester United for a long period, that is why we paid so much money to have a striker who has a history at this club.

“We didn’t have a lot of time but he is ready, physically he is ready, that is a big component in our league, then he is really smart, he is ready to play, we will see if he is going to start.”
