Rasmus Hojlund joined Manchester United from Atalanta in 2023 for £64 million, with an additional £8 million in performance-related bonuses.
Hojlund's performances last year were well below the standards needed for a striker leading the line for Manchester United, scoring just four goals in 32 Premier League games.
On the March 16 2025, Hojlund netted against Leicester City in a 3-0 victory to end his 21-game goalless streak.
With big money signings made this window, with Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and most recently Benjamin Sesko, where does the Dane fit into this new Manchester United frontline?
Reasons to keep:
Hojlund will have less game time, which will mean that there will be less pressure on him to perform on a regular basis. This will also mean he will have more time on the training ground to develop his game and finishing.
The Dane wants to stay and is determined to prove himself despite having below par campaign last season, this shows his belief in himself.
Last season wasn't all Hojlund's fault as Manchester United as a whole struggled to find any sort of form and couldn't find any sort of consistency.
He had a positive first year at Old Trafford, finding the net 10 times in the Premier League.
Hojlund is still a young player and it is always difficult for young players to strive under pressure when a team the size of Manchester United are struggling at the bottom half of the table. There has been a lot of toxic news around the club and people looking for someone to blame.

Reasons to loan:
Will help relieve the pressure of his shoulders and begin scoring goals again.
Going away from the pressures of Manchester United while they rebuild this season.
Even though he struggled to score last season, Hojlund's movement off the ball was good but a lot of the time the ball failed to reach him.
With the loan rumours from AC Milan and Fulham, there are two different scenarios for the young Dane.
If he joins AC Milan the pressure continues, as the Italian giants demand the same as the Manchester United, however he will be leaving the scrutiny of the English media and play alongside a proven goal scorer in Santiago Gimenez and Alvaro Morata while also playing with world class players such as Rafael Leao and Luca Modric.
But joining Fulham would allow him to have off days and having the pressure of winning every week, he can also learn off a Premier League proven goal scorer and Mexican international Raul Jimenez.
Loaning out Hojlund could help Manchester United get some revenue back on a future sale of him, with his market stock being low after a poor season a loan move away from the club and scoring goals will mean his transfer value will rise.
Reasons to sell:
The reasons to sell are straightforward, with the club in debt and with the club gaining no revenue from European football it's a chance to gain some money from player incomings.
If he is no longer in Ruben Amorim's plans and he is still young there is a market and with him playing for Manchester United, teams around Europe will look to purchase him.
Manchester United have an younger and excited striker coming through the academy and played in a few league games last season in Chido Obi, and keeping Hojlund in the squad will be hindering his progress through to the first team.
With opening the campaign against Arsenal, it will be good test to see if Amorim brings him on and will be a real insight into if he trusts the Dane in big matches.
With less than three weeks left of the summer transfer window and three games until deadline day, we will be able to see how Hojlund fits into the system this season.
