Opening night of the NFL season is right around the corner.
In just three short weeks, the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will kick off the NFL season.
Seventeen games for each team will shape the playoff field and one analyst believes that two teams will represent the AFC East during the postseason.
While revealing his season predictions on his daily show, "The Herd," Fox Sports' Colin Cowherd predicted both the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots will reach the playoffs.
"Bills are gonna win it. Patriots are my most improved team in the NFL," Cowherd said when discussing the division. They'll be a wild card team. They've had a very good camp," he said when discussing New England.
The Patriots may have very well had the best offseason of any team in the NFL.
That started with the hire of well-respected head coach and former New England player Mike Vrabel. Vrabel has a reputation for playing hard-nosed, smash-mouth football and that is exactly what the Patriots needed after a 4-13 season under Jerrod Mayo.
As for the Bills, they have the reigning MVP in Josh Allen and are expected to be among the best teams not only in the AFC, but in the entire league.
A postseason appearance for Buffalo would be its seventh straight trip to the playoffs and eighth trip in the last nine seasons.
For New England, a postseason birth would be just its second since the departure of Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady.
If any head coach can get the Patriots back to relevancy, it is Vrabel. It would not be surprising in the slightest to see them go 10-7 this season.
